Since good 'ol Earl blew through the east coat the weather here in NY
has caused the ferrets to dig into those sleep sacks a little deeper,
sleep a little later and well, move into winter mode. It may be
temporary. It has rained cats and dogs and the leaves have begun to
fall, the good old dog days of summer are drawing to a close and we
are awaiting the arrival of "Indian summer" and our beautiful NY fall
foliage.
This weekend I did manage to rush to my "hammie" in the back yard next
to Lukey's small garden of sunflowers, complete with blankie, pillow
and a good book. It might be my last chance to take in fresh air, the
summer sun and the peace and quiet of our neighborhood. I didn't want
to miss the opportunity.
I finished the book. I need another, perhaps a mystery.
Since so many animal lovers frequent this forum and the colder months
are coming; a time when when snuggling up with a good book is in order,
I thought I would share the following series with you. The Pet-sitter
Mysteries by Linda O. Johnston. Some of the titles include:
Sit,Stay,Slay, Nothing to Fear But Ferrets, Fine-Feathered Death, Meow
is for Murder, The Fright of the Iguana and Double Dog Dare. Double Dog
Dare is my current read. Betcha can't guess which one I will be reading
next....I didn't see the ferret read on the list at the library.
Perhaps I will sit atop the new bench in the ferret room and read to
them!
