I heard today from someone whose vet treated a pet store's ferrets for
influenza. So many people coming in, so much chance to spread infection
to the ferrets...

Please, remember that if you think you have a cold it might instead be
an influenza to which you have some immunity.

Ferrets DO get influenza and bacterial sinus infections.  Hand washing
becomes especially important to protect them, please.

Influenza is primarily a respiratory virus but it can have additional
components such as GI ones.
