RE FAQ:  Yes, I'm back to doing the general care FAQ.  I had thought
that Suki was taking it over, but that was a misunderstanding that we
have cleared up.
 
I really want to farm out the litter training section.  I think it will
be a fairly long section, and almost any of you could handle it.
However, I would like it to include several methods of training, not
just the one *you* were successful with.  (even though you can state
which one that was)  So it might be best if you have been around
long enough to have been through the litter training discussion a
few times.  Any takers?
 
RE diet:  Purina Mini Friends Ferret Chow has also been known to
cause prolapsed rectums in kits.  It contains a lot of corn, which
can be somewhat caustic, especially for the little ones.
 
Is it still true that Purina Mini Friends doesn't contain Taurine?
If so, I'll include that in the diet part of the FAQ (Suki and I
decided that I'll be taking the diet portion).
 
My (current) personal favorite food is Pro Plan's Turkey and Barley.
It seems to be a very flavorful food, so most ferrets adapt to it
very well.  It also has no nasty chemicals.  These guys have a high
enough cancer rate as it is, my feeling is that anything we can do
to reduce the risk is worth it.  Even thought many people will argue
to the death that normal ferret/cat foods are not carcinogenic.  Why
take the risk when there is a decent alternative.  Also, Pro Plan is
a very popular brand, most of you should have no trouble finding
it in your local pet stores.
 
The only problem with the Pro Plan Turkey and Barley is that it doesn't
come in a kitten food.  So for those of you with kits, you should
probably use a kitten formula of something else for the first several
months.
