Honestly, it seems that the rumor mill is going a bit wild and the
police investigating the incident of the alleged ferret attack are
being saddled with blame for what some reporters have written and
what some rumor mongers have said.

Anyone reading the latest article can see that the stomach contents
in the ferret were not analyzed yet.

Also, the recent articles make it clear that those who are
investigating are well aware that neglect and perhaps abuse would
eed to be involved for the damage to occur no matter who did it.

Sometimes more is achieved with honey than vinegar. Rather than
harassing calls perhaps it would make sense to send snail mail thank
you cards saying that you appreciate that the investigation is not
pursuing an easy answer but that thoroughness is being sought, tell
what features in the news stories simply do not make sense to you and
why, and include some lines about ways that ferrets have been kind to
you and others. Nothing good for ferrets or ferret people can come of
making enemies of those who are working the investigation.
