Support Our Shelters was saddened to read of people who are taking
advantage of the Giving Tree and the Shelter List.

S.O.S. would like to ask that people please contact us if they know of
a shelter on our list that is not a legitimate shelter or is closed
or has other serious problems. Not hearsay, of course. Personal
eye-witness knowledge of a bad situation, or information from a very
trusted source. We do not want to be legitimizing anyone who does not
fit the name "shelter."

Being an all-volunteer no-budget organization, we can't fly around the
country visiting shelters. We rely on honest reports from ferret lovers
and other shelters for questions about the shelters on our list. We
distinguish as best we can between ill will from someone with an axe
to grind and real reports of real abuse.
