Princess Lily was helped across the bridge today at 12.30 with dignity.
Arriving here looking like a young adult in 2004, having been scooped
up from the middle of a nearby road by my father, no one came forward
to claim this sweet sassy girl. My little albino lady was an
accomplished explorer and organiser of sock drawers, a connoisseur of
roast chicken and Ferretone, and for many years kept Ollieweezil and
Chunkyfuzzle in line. In her latter years she looked after Miss Midge
who lived with us for a few months late last year, and following a few
months as a lone weezil she recently took a young jill under her wing
who tonight is wondering where her friend and playmate has gone. My
petite little lady was at least 7, although I will never know how old
she really was.. or why she had one bent or deformed toe.. it was just
one of those things that made her so unique - as they all are. She was
strong in spirit, its just sad that her body wasnt as sturdy. Im going
to miss her good humour and gentle personality.

I promised her that when she arrives at the bridge Ollie Chunky and
Midge will be there to meet her probably joined by Bubbles Skweek
Rhoobarb and Custard. I'm sure she will find a decent pile of socks to
burrow into. Sleep well my little kissy fert, the place feels empty
tonight, and another piece of my heart goes with her to remind her how
loved she was, and again My poor vet has had to cope with a sobbing
ferret dad. My thanks to Leighton ever sensitive to to the sorrow
caused at a time like this.
