It's funny, as I was reading this post, Cyan was burrowing herself
under the nest box bedding, apparently to hide from her frolicking
youngsters who were all tearing up the outside pen. :-)
FYI, according to their keeper, Lawrence, they are currently eating
small carnivore diet (ground meat), frozen whole rat and pieces of
frozen prairie dog. The kits do play a bit with the prey, but by
morning it's all been eaten! I also catch them nursing a bit from
time to time. They're 8 1/2 weeks old now.
The kits will be staying with their mom and on camera at the Zoo's
Conservation Research Center until about mid-October, when they will be
moved to the Colorado facility. I don't know if their fate from there
has been determined yet.
