I'm sorry you had to go through such an ordeal with Milo(DIP).

This sounds like zinc poisoning; from galvanized metal.

Much of the wiring on cages goes through this galvanization process,
so this unfortunate incident should be a heads-up for everyone with
"cribbers", those who chew on things like cage bars in particular.
