who have had to remain in a cage because when we let them loose in the
room to join our other 4 ferrets, Rascal (male, neutered) sniffs them
briefly and then bites down hard on back of neck and shakes them. The
more confident boy, Mokie, runs into a tube where he can defend himself
but Bandit just tries to run away and gets very upset. If I pick him
up, he snuggles into me and does not want to be put back on the floor. [...]50_9Nov201118:24:[log in to unmask] 1111 2452 48 27_Re: Totally Ferret Complete12_Lonny [log in to unmask], 8 Nov 2011 22:38:09 -0800571_- I suggest this website: ferret.com.

That is where I often buy food for my ferret Fred. They have it
currently for $12.99 (plus shipping) for a 4..25 lb. bag.

ferret.com usually has good prices, even when you consider shipping.
And they will combine shipping if you order multiple items, saving
even more sometimes.

For example, I get "8 in 1 Ultimate" for Fred, and the price at
ferret.com is usually about half or even less what I pay at the local
pet stores (if I can even find it there), even considering shipping. [...]38_8Nov201122:38:[log in to unmask] 1111 2501 13 21_re fatal food [log in to unmask], 9 Nov 2011 23:25:32 +1300293_- Experience here has shown that onions are toxic to ferrets, causing
if I recall correctly "toxic anemia" I cant be certain as it was a
friends ferret that passed a few years ago.

Due to a blind ferret, I had to switch to corner potty papers
(newspaper I get from the local mini-mart daily leftovers once a
month). It is so much easier! Email me if you want me to send
instructions on how to fold the newspaper to make it with a 'lip'
and corner and can send dig pics. [...]39_9Nov201103:57:[log in to unmask] 1111 2537 22 10_Re: Litter9_darlene [log in to unmask], 9 Nov 2011 03:48:32 -0800492_- Hello, I love the litter called Swheatscoop. And yes, I had a digger
for awhile but I would scruff her and tell her no and put some of her
Poo in it so she learned what it was for, now , she'll only try to tip
it if I don't let her out fast enough!! LOL!! I think with anything
new, you have to have patience and show them what its for. I love it
because it has no clay, all natural, scoopable and 1 bag will last me
a month with 4 fuzzys with 4 litter pans. You can [...]41_9Nov201103:48:[log in to unmask] 1111 2560 14 20_LITTER CLARIFICATION14_Cathy [log in to unmask], 9 Nov 2011 07:39:04 -0800250_- When I asked for advice on litter, I mentioned clumping litter.

Please understand: I NO LONGER use clumping litter, haven't for quite
some time - so please do not flame me on this!!!

Thank you.

On a silent night in winter time a tiny kit was born,
a little love, sent from above in blankets that were worn.
His mother knew in time to come her kits would be grown,
but as they grew, one little kit spent all his time alone.

In his eyes there was a peace that she had never seen,
and to his coat, there seemed to be a deep, angelic sheen.
She knew that he was special, though she didn't know just yet,
that he would be a saving grace not only

We received an email today from Jerseyville, Il. Apparently, the
adopter pulled this little girl from her group of five, adopted her
to a friend, and then gave her the medical information. It states that
the ferret needs lupron monthly. The couple wasn`t prepared for this
$40 monthly expense--and at first seemed ready to let the ferret go,
because of this.

At this point, they have decided they want to keep the little girl,
but need help with expenses. Is there a good, reasonable vet near
Jerseyville, who charges less? (Ours does, but we`re five hours away!)

I`m a bit alarmed that their vet is now talking about surgery, and
presenting it as a cure. He states that they would never ever have to
pop for lupron again, if they did it. I`m wondering how experienced he
is with adrenal surgeries.

Is there a shelter somewhere around there who could point these people
in the right direction (& maybe educate them a bit?)

Their phone # (posted with permission) is (618) 946-9186.

Thanks much.

Love, Zoo
