I have just recently aquired two female ferrets and am having a great
time with them. I can sit and watch them and usually end up laughing
out loud at how crazy they are! Their names are "Faucet" and "Beuller"--
see if you can figure it out. I purchased them in Maine neutered and
descented for about $100.00. They have little or no smell and have
responded well to training to the litter box and not biting. They will
bite during play but have learned not to bite me as hard as they do
each other.
 
[Keep working on it....  They should get to the point where they
don't bite you at all, though, you may encounter them grooming you
with their teeth.  Not really a problem, but something to warn
strangers about...]
 
I have also noticed one pecuilar habit they bot have--sucking on each
other's ears! If you look closely at the ear there are two little
black and blue marks from the front teeth. They don't seem to mind at
all. Can anyone see any reason this would be a problem?
 
[In itself, it shouldn't be a problem, except for possible infections.
Do they draw blood?  Do they really go at it, or just bounce around?
Provided that they aren't hurting each other (ferret necks and ears
are *tough*!), don't worry about it]
 
Both ferrets seem to drink alot of water, more than I would have
expected. Is this normal, or perhaps an indicator of some problem? Any
information would be apprecieated.
