Dear Darlene,
It's been really rainy up here at the Bridge as of late and we have
been enjoying playing in it as well as the mud that is left behind. I'm
an albino. so a bath is always in order after a good slide down the mud
hill and today I had to make a rush of it. Here I was coming down the
hill, perfectly balanced on my belly, with my arms firming at my side,
my chin slightly raised, my protective goggles in place and as I got
to the to bottom of the hill I ran right straight into Hobbes. Poor
Hobbes, I really didn't see him standing there, and he was swept right
out of his Wellingtons and slide down the hill the rest of the way with
me. After we finally came to a stop he got up and tried getting as much
mud off as he could and he was really, really letting off quite a few
colorful metaphors before handing me my next assignment. I of course
took him up to my cottage and got him a good bath and a new set of warm
clothes and then I sent him on his grouchy way, AND then I took a fast
shower and quick blow dry on myself before heading off to the Bridge to
greet Buddy.
The Rainbow Bridge is not only a place where fuzzits are greeted, but
all of God creatures come this way as well, so I was more then happy to
be chosen to go and greet Buddy. Along my way I stopped in the doggie
section of heaven and looked for my good friend Mickey. Mickey was my
mum's first dog. He's a tea cup Pomeranian and loves to go to Greet
newly arriving doggies, so he was more then happy to come along with me.
On our way, we hit a light drizzle, nothing to serious mind you, but
just enough to leave the most beautiful double rainbow up in the sky.
So when we finally did arrive at the Bridge, that double rainbow served
as a beacon for anyone coming over the Bridge that day. I remember
just how peaceful and quiet it was, and all you could hear was the
occasional drip-drip of water from the trees, plants and from the small
river that runs under the bridge itself. Then this wonderful blue light
began to form at the Bridge opening and then a few seconds later we saw
Buddy coming across. He looked to be part Shih Tzu and sure enough and
I quickly reread his scroll it said he was a Shih Tzu/ terrier mix,
but what got me was his smile, it was the cutest smile ever, or as you
called it his "Upside down buck tooth smile". He looked good, I mean
really good and he was happy too. He just came right on over and he and
Mickey got to know one and another in that usual doggie way in which
they say hello <lol> and then he began talking up a storm, he talked
about you and how much he loved being part of your family and of course
he wanted to let you know that he apologized for escaping from his pen,
but the world held just too many wonders to keep him he just had to see
them all.
Mickey and I showed him around the place and of course we showed him
the Viewing Pool as well, so you know he will be looking in on you and
waiting for the day when the two of you can be reunited. Then desiring
to get back into the mud, I left him in Mickey's capable paws, but
before I walked away, he trotted over and told me to tell you that he
loves you very much and always will!
In Love & In Comfort,
Pie O' Pah
