I called the Baxa Corporation yesterday to try and order some 1cc
syringes. I was told that Baxa will no longer sell to individuals,
AND,...they will no longer sell their syringes to anyone other than
healthcare professionals. When I asked if veterinarians qualified as
healthcare she said NO. They claim that selling to anyone other than
healthcare professionals (including vets) was causing shortages in
the healthcare field.

They gave me this website and said they'd sell to individuals:

http://www.healthcarelogistics.com/

I contacted them and they say they are out of them, do not know when
they'll get more and that they've been scarce for the last year.

One has to wonder if this "shortage" has something to do with the world
wide upcoming flu vaccinations (mandatory or not). I imagine that in
this sort of economy, those manufacturers would want a piece of that
action.

Thank you, Linda, for you post yesterday about the Coden syringes. I
think many of us looked at the squirrel store site and wondered if
those syringes were really Baxa or not! Now that I think of it, does
Coden make those lovely blue caps as well?

Bummer.
