I fed Sprout before taking him in to have his stitches removed. He
weighed 2 lbs 4 ounces. A little artificially higher than what it
really was. Before feeding him he weighed 2 lbs 2.7 ounces. He has been
over 2 lbs 1 ounce for 5 days now. He has a lot of diarrhea which is
tan or brown and sometimes a little green. He is a lot more alert and
more active but still rests a fair amount as compared to before he lost
his weight.
While at the vets office I picked up some A/D and we are going to
replace the ensure with the A/D. So we will be feeding him pureed
chicken mixed with A/D and water.
We are thinking of mixing equal amounts of chicken, A/D, and water.
Does this seem like a good idea or should we lean to more chicken and
less A/D. We also thought about just the chicken and water. The main
thing is that he maintains his weight. Since the day of his surgery he
has gained 6 ounces (well maybe 5 since the last weight may have been
artificially high).
Thank you to everyone who offered advice and information.
I will continue to update you as to his progress.
Mike
