Dear Sherrie - Daoine O" Queen of the Ferrets,
Boy, oh Boy, I've never done a greeting for a Queen before,
ummmmm ..... do you I address you as your majesty or how about M'Lady?
<said as he takes a deep and honourable bow> So M'Lady, I was working
on my dirt garden this afternoon when Hobbes came to visit me.
I say dirt garden because for as much as I would love to have flowers
and herbs and all manner of blooming things in it, all I can see to
manage is the digging part. I get so into the *fun* of digging, that I
tend to forget about the *why* I am digging ..... oops! Oh well, I was
very much like that in life as too, there was never a dull moment with
me around and most certainly a potted plant that did not receive a
repotting or two because of my love of digging, mum even made me a
digging box and I can't even begin to express the deep joy of being
able to play in it. Thing is, I would have to get a bath afterwards,
being that as an albino, me and potting soil didn't mix well .......
well, they do, but then it just looks all muddy white ......
Hobbes was actually in a good mood when he came by, he had this dreamy
smile on his face, so I asked him why he looked so happy, and he told
me he had a date with an adorable fuzzit named Sascha.
"Her mum called her bean head, but she doesn't look like a bean to me,
she's reallllll purdy and the sweetest fuzzit I have ever met, and she
asked me if I would come along with you to do this greeting.", he said
as he handed me my next assignment.
I began to unroll the scroll, but as I did Hobbes pretty much told me
everything that was written on it, and all before I could even get to
the end of it.
"His name is Max, she likes to call him Smax and he's like a puppy
and would follow her everywhere, kinda like Finny follows our mum
everywhere now, and he has a few brothers and sister here already.
There's Monty-Boo and Razzle, and Dweezil who is her "one small star"
and Jezebel, and an albino like yourself named Loki, and a really
beautiful D.E.W. named Sylvi who I know for a fact has been seen in the
company of our brother Tischa, and then there is Natasha, who was only
with her for a bit, but was loved just as well as the rest of them.",
he rattled off.
"Ok, so if you know everything why don't you go and do the greeting
then?.", I asked
He just looked down at the ground and kicked at the soil I had dug up
and asked, "Would it be ok if I went, I want to make a good impression
on Sascha, this is our first date you know and I just want everything
to go well and, and, and ....", he stumbled.
I swear I have never seen him act so goofy, but it was soooo rewarding
to see him not be so crabby, so I told him, "Sure Hobbes, you are more
then welcome to come along with me, so where's Sascha at?", I asked,
and he made a waving motion and from behind my big oak tree came this
darling, sweet faced fuzzit girl, even *I* had to admit at what a
sweetheart she was.
" I know where everyone is at, I could show you, if you don't mind that
is...", said Sascha
And as usual, we were off and looking for seven fuzzits to join us on
our quest to the Bridge. The first place Sascha stopped by was the
Tasty Treat & Fruit Bar. It where all fuzzits and other critters go to
get all of the food we were only allowed small tastes of on earth, but
up here, the skies the limit, heck, I come here at least three times a
week for my red licorice fix!!! This is where we found Monty- boo, who
was pigging out on crunchy Chinese noodles and Loki who was enjoying a
nice big bowl of ice cream, and both dropped what they were eating to
run and hug Sascha, and then she explained about Max and of course they
were both very eager to run off with us to greet him.
Next we stopped by Butterfly fields to get Natasha (Who told me to tell
you that she never felt like a stranger, she said, and I quote, "I felt
like I was loved a life time in the few weeks I was there with you, and
there was nothing strange about that!") And we found Sylvi the polar
weasel, with my brother Tischa (also a D.E.W. but without the dark
smudge on his nose) who were playing tug-o-war over an old sponge mop,
and Jezebel who was acting as referee for them both.
Our last stop was a very special place where ferrets get their wings.
When a fuzzit is ready to leave from your earthly plain, their name
comes directly to The Bridge Greeter Central. Couriers are then
dispatched with scrolls to the various Bridge Greeters, who in return,
go and greet them. After they arrive here they go to the Training
Fields where they will find out what job they will be assigned then
begin their training, and then after they graduate from training, they
go to get their wings. Like at Bridge Greeter Central, and the Training
Fields, Wings have these huge ledger books on all of those fuzzits that
are ready to get their wings and couriers are sent out with the wing
wands to give them their wings.
Well when the Big Guy heard you when you first called Dweezil "my one
small star", and from that time on He knew that when Dweezil or as
Sandee called her, Grandmother because she lives so very long, was
ready to come here, she would be a Wing Angel, but even better then
that is the fact that she and Razzle work together. Your one small star
is now the biggest star here and your Dorkus McRazzle, despite being a
big dumb boy, has an even bigger heart, and the largest set of wings I
have ever seen, and is very keen with his Wing Wand!
After we had everyone together Sylvi began calling for Max. She did
such a great job of calling for Dweezil that we all felt she should be
the one to call for him. Her voice was very soft, and sing-song like
and made me want to follow her where ever she went - who wouldn't?
She's an adorable dark eyed white! As we arrived at the Bridge, I found
it was still covered in all of that beautiful purple wisteria and it
smelled so warm and lovely outside and a soft glow came from the
Bridge and then there was Max. He was as you described too, from being
slender, and a silver mitt, all the way down to the freckles on his
nose and he was joyful. When we are loved as much as Max and the others
of your business are, leaving isn't as painful as one would think.
Because it is your love that keeps us alive and when it is our time to
come to the Bridge, it is your love that guides us here, and finally,
it is your love we look to be reunited with when it is time for you to
come and be here with us again.
So Max is here, and yes he got his wings, how could he not have with
having his own personal Wing Angel brother and sister??
In Love & In Comfort,
Pie O' Pah
Razzle, my Dorkus McRazzle,
Dweezil, my one small star. 08/26/96-09/03/04
