FERRET ENTHUSIASTS:

This is an ad (-:) for the upcoming largest pet ferret show ever held
in the world, FERRET EXPO 1990. January 21st. Frederick, Maryland. 10
a.m. to 10 p.m. Somewhat like a cat show, if you've gone to one of those.

It is sanctioned by the International Ferret Association (I.F.A.), who
also certifies the judges in the three rings. It is sponsored by the
Montgomery Ferret Club of Gaithersburg, Maryland. (301) 330-5492.

The Club and the Show are not-for-profit organizations, with the proceeds
from the show (and the previous two shows) going into a "war chest"
to (a) attain a USDA approved rabies vaccine for pet ferrets, and (b)
lobby for legalization of pet ferrets in the six states where they are
currently banned. As stated earlier, Norden Labs is releasing a rabies
vaccine for ferrets (pending USDA approval of their field tests) in
January--possibly we will have a shot clinic at the Expo . . .

The Montgomery Ferret Club is affiliated with the I.F.A., the United
Ferret Organization (U.F.O.), the Ferret Fanciers Club of Pittsburgh,
the Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council (PIJAC), the Loudoun Area Ferret
Fanciers (LAFF) of Virginia and many other clubs across the country.
A copy of the goals and purposes (i.e., bylaws) of the Club are in
draft form and will be available as soon as my computer gets a new floppy
controller!
