Just to clarify some questions, Minky doesn't always have diarrhea,
nor is her poop always smelly. I have discovered that it is smelly and
loose if she eats Bob's CG or Turkey or Chicken baby food. So I've
eliminated those. I have a feeling that since the food she was being
fed before i got her was of poor quality, maybe her system can't handle
rich foods. I don't know what I'll use if I have to give her meds.
She's been eating for several months the TF without chicken, since
some people suggested she might have a chicken allergy.
My other ferret, Klondike, also has intermittent problems, but his
cleared up for awhile after a short course of pred in April. Sometimes
his poops smell really bad too.
I think because it's intermittent and comes and goes on its on may be
why the first vet diagnosed it as IBD. It's similar in humans with IBS.
Thanks for sharing your experiences and advice.
Best of health to all our little ones.
