[Moderator's note: Not only did our Pye O' Pah get some info yesterday
about Buddy from a contact over at the canine side of the bridge but
someone from the canine bridge actually got a message through today!
I guess it shows some things get lost in the translation -- heck, even
ferrets don't often get *two* greetings -- Buddy must have been one
special dog! BIG]
Buddy da dawg, gets greeted at da Canine Rainbow Bridge....
It was a warm and sunny morning.....all was loud and rambunctious, as
it always is at da Dawg section of the Rainbow bridge....pups were
frolicking too and fro..there was a wonderful fun game called "Da
frisbee toss" going on in the daffodil field.....over at the dog-n-suds
bar, there were a few beagles hanging out enjoying their dog-beer and
some hot dogs.....when all of the sudden -- Da Dog Doorbell rang......
Several of the pups wanted to dash right to da door -- but being as
they wuz puppies, Da Boss -- Big Dawg -- hustled to corral them up, so
he could get da door. Da Boss opened da door and there stood a very
healthy looking, happy -- but a bit confused beagle-weagle named Buddy!
Buddy kinda shooks his head a bit and looked at Da Boss and said: who
are you and where am I? I was looking for my Mommy.......
Da Boss said, I's Da Big Boss -- but you can call me Boss Dog. Buddy
said well hello boss dog. Where am I?
Da Boss told him: You are at Da Dawggie Rainbow bridge of course!
Buddy peeked around Da boss and said: Wow! Look at the pile of doggie
biscuits!!! I've never seen anything that big before!
Da Boss said -- well that is for you Buddy -- and everybody else here!
It is Da Biscuit Mountain -- you can eat and eat and eat -- and it
never goes down! Right next to it there, is da "Never-Ending" Cookie
jar! Cookies are always in it and you can has one whenever you wants!
Oh, and look -- right there? Dat is da Steak-and Shake! You can goes
der, get a steak, and have a swim whenever you wants! And you can
shake all over everyone and dey like it!!
Buddy said "wow"! Can I go has some?
Da Boss said, of course, c'mon in!
Buddy ran over to the biscuit mountain and very delicately took one
biscuit and munched it down. Wow -- he said to the Boss! Dat is the
BESTEST biscuit I ever tasted!
Da boss said, of course it is! Everything tastes better here! And den
he ran and ate a cookie, and den a steak -- and hopped in the pool for
a quick dip and shake! Buddy looked down at his paws and again was
surprised! He said to Da Boss -- Hey! I remember before here....I was
trying to chase that cute little squirrel up a tree and I ran across
da road...**My Mommy always told me not to**...and all I remember is
dat first I was running......and den I hurts for a second or so and
now, I'z here....I thought I hurted myself....
Da Boss then explained that while running across da road -- he was
chosen to be sent here, to Da bridge, with a new body -- no hurts, no
aches -- just lots of shiny new fur -- to be here for other pups....
and to wait for his Mommy.....
Buddy then looked sad and said...but I wanna go home and see her now!!
I won't run away anymore, I promise! Please just let me go to her....
she is probably scared cause I's been gone for a while.
Da Boss said, well Buddy -- it doesn't work that way....you have to
wait for your Momma here, and someday soon, she'll come and get you
and you can both go into "Da Golden Doors" area -- and live happy
and forever be with your Mommy, and Sadie too!
But Buddy was still a little
sad.....then, out of the blue, a big collie named Sheba came up to
him......and said, Hello Buddy! My name is Sheba and my Mommy said
you'd be coming here, I'm here to show you around, and to show you
where your going to stay while you're here. There is a really cool dawg
house, dat has lots of Beagle-weagles in it! One of em is my sister
Roxy -- and she will be your best buddy, I just know it! C'mon. So
Sheba took Buddy to Da Dawg House -- and Roxy met em at da door. C'mon
in Buddy! I'm so glad you're here! Now I's got a new friend! My Mommy
told me and Sheba all abouts you so I feel like you're my brother!
Would you like to see your Mommy and Sadie for a second?
Buddy said "Wow, can I"?
Roxy said, of course you can! C'mere to da big water dish........now
watch closely Buddy......Roxy dipped her paw into the bowl and stirred
the water up.....as the swirls died down, Buddy peered into the dish
and saw his Mommy! She was sad and crying....cause she was missing
Buddy something fierce......so Buddy reached his nose into the water
and gave her Buddy kisses......when his Mommy felt them -- she sat up
and grabbed her cheek and said: Buddy! Oh Buddy! I just felt your
kisses!!! Buddy was happy his Mommy stopped crying. Den Buddy saw Sadie
-- and he leaned in and whispered in her ear.....don't be sad Sadie1 I
misses you -- but wait til you get here! They got Hotdog Hill, Biscuit
Mountain -- and a cookie jar that never gets empty! I loves you both so
very much!!! When Buddy was done, Roxy told him that anytime he wanted
to see them, just to touch his paw to the water and they would appear!
Buddy saw his Mommy was still smiln, so he sent her another message: He
said Mommy - I gots new friends here and I don't hurt or nuthin! I wish
you were here, but I guess you got to finish your work first, so I will
wait for you here
Don't be sad Mommy -- I found Biscuit Mountain, and I'm gonna go with
Roxy now for a swim in Da Dawg Pond! We''re gonna have lots of fun!
Sheba will be der too! I miss you Mommy, plea se take care of Sadie and
give her head rubs from me ok? -- Oh - and by da way, I got SMARTER
here too! I'z not gotten in twubble or nuthin yet! Remember when you
miss me da most, I'z right der in your heart! I love you Mommy and
thank you for all the love you gave me , and the fun we had! I'll see
you soon! Da Big Boss Dawg was watching all this from his Dawg Hammock,
on his closed circuit puppa-dawg cable tv...and thought....it is
good......and so goes another arrival at Da Dawg Rainbow Bridge!
