It is also a human medication. Ask your vet to write a prescription
for you. I recently had to give all of my ferrets amoxi and I was able
to get all that I needed free! Several places here fill certain
antibiotics for free, or at a very low cost.

I ended up needing two large bottles. The first, I had them mix.
Because I knew I wouldn't use the entire second bottle, I ask them not
to mix it and I measured out, and mixed, what I needed, using distilled
water. I still have 1/2 bottle that I can use for my wildlife or future
ferret needs.

Once it's mixed, it's only good for two weeks.
