There are a number of sites and videos with ferret noises; I imagine
others will post links.

But as far as format is concerned, if you have a sound clip in just
about any format you can convert it to .wav using the free program
"Audacity". There's a great tutorial from UC Berkeley here:
http://multimedia.journalism.berkeley.edu/tutorials/audacity/

If you only have flash as a source (like a youtube video), then you can
extract the audio with something like Wiretap. That's a Mac program
which costs, but you can download it for a free trial. It can record
anything you can hear on your Mac. I'm sure there is something similar
for the PC.
