We have 10 ferrets who were given rabies vaccinations and 3 had a big
reaction and one had a mild reaction. This is a bigger rate than what
you would expect and I was wondering if there was something different
about this batch of rabies vaccinations. All 4 ferrets are fine but
they were weak, vomiting, and diarrhea.

All these ferrets had rabies vaccination last year and no reactions but
that doesn't really mean a lot because allergic reactions can occur
after repeated exposures.

I still think there is something wrong with the rabies vaccination and
I would consider not getting rabies vaccinations in the future. Our
ferrets do not go out side, chances are very low for them to be exposed
to rabies. I just don't want to make them that miserable or sick again
or risk losing them to a reaction.

Please let me know if the manufacture is going to change their rabies
vaccination to one which doesn't cause this much of a reaction.

Thank you

Mike
