Hi Carol,

You won't find a worm... it is in fact a fungal infection which attacks
ferrets ( or cats) with low immune systems.

It can be spread through contact I am told though when we had cats get
it immediately after a vaccination... it did not spread to the others
here. Our treatment was a lyme dip for the cats... it passes over time,
as the immune system builds back up. not sure what the cefa drops are
for.??? . amoxy certainly does not help as it is not a bacterial
infection.
