We took in a pair of foster kids--both boys--on Friday. They are
estimated at 3-4 years old.
I couldn't put my finger on what was so odd about Talan (the light
silver) when he moved, but then I realized: he can't or won't pick up
his tail. He also doesn't hold it up when he potties.
While he certainly seems to get around painlessly and nimbly, it seems
to my eye that he tends to "waddle" a bit more with his back legs than
is normal.
I took a short video, which can be seen here:

(Sorry, we all know how ferrets never do what you want them to do on
film. Skip to about 40 seconds in to see Talan in motion.)
His other symptoms--though probably not related to this--are diarrhea
and a rather large basal cell tumor on the back of his neck. Yes, he's
going to the vet on Monday or Tuesday.
Should I have x-rays taken?
If anyone has any insight, I would appreciate it. Thanks so much!
