is made a little easier by my having that heavy plastic carpet runner
cut to extend about 6 inches outside of the size of the box. Carpets
are saved!

I have six ferrets right now. My hands are constantly dried out from
cleaning. So, I don't clean up the poops right away. I wait until I
see two or three poops, to minimize the number of times I have to wash
my hands. I also do a nightly poop patrol, as does my husband. [...]41_14Nov200900:17:[log in to unmask] 0911 7929 44 20_Re: True Confessions3_R [log in to unmask], 14 Nov 2009 10:13:51 -0900374_- Jill Schifty-ly asked:

Gotta fess up here:
It depends on the date and time! And location!

If it happens in front of me and I remember where I last dropped one of
the 24 rolls of paper towels, I immediately run for the NON-bleach and
paper towels. [...]39_14Nov200910:13:[log in to unmask] 0911 7974 16 38_Travel Cage and Poop Cleanup Responses14_Tracy [log in to unmask], 14 Nov 2009 06:41:46 -0600378_- Travel Cage - I highly recommend Martin's cages. The travel cage they
sell folds, and if they don't have what you want, they can make it.

Poop cleanup - I clean it up immediately with soap and water - I never
use bleach products in my house because of the ferrets. The only time
bleach is used in this house is non-chlorine bleach for clothes
washing. [...]44_14Nov200906:41:[log in to unmask] 0911 7991 23 11_travel [log in to unmask], 14 Nov 2009 06:40:22 -0800544_- I've have a Quality Cage Company Stow-n-Go for 7 years now. It's been
checked baggage, packed in the car, and the guest cage. Easy to set
up, really does fold down nicely. Awkward to carry as it's two feet
square, but still easy to manage. I still have the original box, it's
that sturdy. I did cut mats for the wire half shelf and solid plastic
bottom. The little white hook on dishes you normaly get when you buy
a carrier fit nicely on the wire sides. You can fit two hammies in it,
just test out which one works [...]41_14Nov200906:40:[log in to unmask] 0911 8015 58 22_Re: A good travel cage3_R [log in to unmask], 14 Nov 2009 11:21:51 -0900308_- Hey, Paula. I travel a LOT and I have learned a bit about the use of
cages. Let me share a bit with you.

I use a cage that came with my fist ferret when I drive. The ferrets
love it and it has always been home on the road. It is all one piece
and does NOT collapse. It is my favorite. [...]39_14Nov200911:21:[log in to unmask] 0911 8074 23 19_goo

I feel so behind in the times. How could I bet so uninformed about a
basic ferret necessity. I'm a 'tard as my kids love to say. And it
took my hippie, surfin' dude of a son to point it out to me.

Said son, as you recall, now owns a possum and a chipmunk. Part of
their diet, it turns out, is high quality ferret food because of the
product quality and the amount of high protein. He went to the store to
buy their supplies and he came home with 8 in 1 ferret food. I said,
"Chet you know better ...". He then showed me that they now have a new
formula. My mouth dropped open when I saw it now has 45% protein and as
I understand, a host of other most excellent ingredients. It's chicken
and rice based to boot. Sigh, chipmunk Chet taught me a thing or two
today.

So on a level of 1-10, how out of date .. okay, how 'tarded am I
exactly for not knowing this?

Da Wolfy
The shame of it all ..
