I would like to strongly suggest that anyone who calls this to the
attention of the authorities should make sure that YOU are eyewitness
to the accusations, and that they are true and factual, not blown out
of proportion. This sort of situation can backfire when based on word
of mouth.

If there is a ferret rescue nearby, perhaps a phone conversation could
result in one of the rescue representatives paying a visit.
