Having served the animal community, and especially the ferret community
in the capacity of Legal and Legislative Affairs for over eighteen
years, I must denounce the position taken by Dr. Gaines and the
American Ferret Association on HR669.

I find it reprehensible that this blatant attack on Pet Ownership in
general, and ferrets in particular is accorded by the AFA and/or its
Officials. Every Officer of the AFA should clamoring to kill this
Bill. The merits and talking points of this Bill are based on biased
hyperbole and junk science. There ARE NO Merits of this Bill. The only
purpose contrived in HR669 is to serve the mantra of the HSUS and PETA.

Please read this Bill: Know what it says, and what it DOESN'T say!
Please take a stand for your legal rights of pet ownership. We love our
pets and consider them as family members; but in the legal arena, pets
are property. Regardless of how you perceive the position of your pets,
please note that if you deny legal ownership of your property, you have
no say in the disposition of that property. We sometimes fall asleep in
the area of our Constitutional Property Rights, but we're just asleep -
NOT BRAIN DEAD. Wake up and kick some ASS! Write, E-mail, Telephone or
Fax! Tell your Representative that you oppose this anti-pet legislation
(HR669) and that you are a registered voter and will be watching
his/her vote on this Bill. Your voice is your vote; make it count for
your pets.

You cannot be heard if you do not speak!
