Just so you know:

Just this week alone I got thanks from 3 vets and 2 research scientists
who have pet ferrets because the abstracts helped them. Also, we FHL
moderators often hear from vets and vet students that the abstracts are
a big value added which keeps them on the FHL (and sometimes I hear
from ones on the FML when an abstract seems general enough to also send
there) because otherwise there is much for them to give on internet
lists but not a whole lot for them to receive, and since vets tend to
have very little spare time...

So, yes, the vets understand the posts and I often hear out of the blue
that they appreciate them.

Certainly, others can skim, though. I think that ALL of us who have
been on-line a long time skim past many things in many places to get
to what interests us personally.

I like it when people post info from which i can learn. For me, that's
the best part.

Oh, and in case people are wondering. Yes, Edward really did co-author
a paper:

but we all have what we do and don't enjoy. I find flame baiting
thoroughly annoying and then avoid those authors for an extended
period afterward. Some people can only flame bait, but with the
ones who actually have the ability to provide intelligent and
constructive posts I find it a sad situation, being so avoidable.
