I have partially solved Rocky's problem by putting some fiber from a
capsule (not Vitasyl, but same stuff made by Petromalt) and when I put
it in his food he makes normal good looking ones. But after the next
meal, unless the fiber is put in, it goes back to the small not so
good looking stuff. I just made a new batch of CG and emptied most of
the capsules into it but it doesn't seem to help. I need to put 1/4
capsule in each of his 4 meals. I wish he would take the pumpkin. Maybe
I'll try it again in very small doses.
The other thing I wondering about is he still often goes from paper to
paper, room to room and even sometimes up on the bed. Is it possible
he's confused about where to go? Could the insulinoma or old age have
affected his brain? It's not like he steps onto the newspaper and
strains to go and can't; he gets on the paper and immediately leaves
for another, then comes back. Sometimes he bumps into things. Could he
be blind? Do they lose some sense of smell in old age? Is it dementia?
Also, he poops on the floor near the paper or elsewhere occasionally
(and he was 99.5% accurate before the insulinoma).
Trying to figure out if the pooping behavior is caused by adreanal/
prostate problem or confusion.
All opinions, experiences appreciated.
thanks to all who have written to me before. You've all been very
helpful.
