Thank you to those who took the time to e-mail me privately on this
subject. I have forward all the info and the links to my vet.

Maddie is pretty depressed today. She ate well last night but today
doesn't feel so well. I am pursuing this as aggresivly as I can.

She is really grinding her teeth, so I am picking up some carafate to
help her tummy, I am sure the pred is affecting it.

I did another Sub-Q this morning, and got as much food as I could down
her. She seems to feel a vbit better.

Her back end was soaked in pee and I washed her the best I could and
put on Diaper rash meds. She seemed to feel better after that. She
doesn't get her poopies on her at all. I am glad of that, as she has
always been a clean and tidy little girl.

She can stand momentarily but not when she begins to move.

I can not bear to see her this way. If you knew this ferret you would
understand the devistaion I am feeling for her. Yes my heart is broken,
but I know for her it is devistating to be this way. I hope for her
sake, we can get some quality of life back for her.

I have had ferrets for a long, long time, and buried over 30 of them.
Each one a heart breaker. Many taken in with special needs.

I have so many special needs ferrets the last few years, I have
forgotten almost how to enjoy them as I remember when I had my first
ferret Kodi.

I have learned far more than I ever wanted to about ferret health. But
through this have been able to help others, that doesn't give me any
comfort when faced with something like this. I know I maybe not love
them the way I do. More of loving a child ,than an animal, that will
and does have many possible medical problems. But I am just me after
all, and can't help the way I love them.

I get so pissed off when people don't learn about the care or possible
special needs that an animal may or may not have.

I went into being owned by a ferret as soon as they were legal in Mi.
The vets knew nothing. The most I knew or had heard was, they will use
a litter box, they won't run to meet you at the door ( ha, thats bull),
they have a life expectancy of 5 years, they are sorta a cross between
dog and a cat ownership. Oh and that great one they don't jump
(ha!!!!!!!!!!).

I am so greatful to the FML and other on line communities, for helping
me get through a lot of major tough times. I will always be greatfull.
Real ferret people are a different breed, and always reach out to help
those who need it.

Again thank you so much.
