That ferret looked very healthy, hew appeared to be of good weight
alert and happy to interact. The enclosure looked well planned out,
clean with many places to climb, explore and nest in. I did not see
that the ferret was hiding or running from the person at all. The
ferret's reaction is very typical of a ferret playing with a new toy.
And especially normal when the person holding the toy is also holding
a camera attempting to video the action!

The ferret was likely trying to figure out the owner's change in
appearance with that "thing" stuck to his eye and coming straight at
the ferret. Also it is likely the electronics of the camera emit a
high frequency tone that we may not be able to hear, but the ferret
can and this too further confused the ferret!

The ferret eventually came out and did a very normal tug of war to try
and claim his new prize.

Anyone that has played with their indoor ferrets using a towel, a sock,
a shirt, or fake skinned animal (Skineez) will experience the very same
responses from their ferret. The ferret will try to back into a tunnel
- for a quick exit if necessary and to offer the ferret more leverage
for pulling. The ferret will dart out and back to the safety of its
tunnel several times while figuring out how to get the prize for
itself.

That ferret owner is interacting with his ferret and offering the
ferret appropriate enrichment with a great place to live!

I think that ferret is a LOT luckier than so many ferrets stuffed into
indoor cages all day long while their owner goes to work or is
sleeping!

That is a very lucky ferret indeed!

Cheers,
Kim
