>Is there a way I can MAKE a box?
Many years ago, before we even started our shelter, I was volunteering
at another shelter in the North East. Stephanie always used a box to
sift out the leavings and would reuse the pellets.
Taking her idea, I went back home and bought (2) identical "Rubbermaid"
dishpans. Since they were the same size and style, they fit together
nicely. I took one of the pans and flipped it over and proceeded to
drill lots of holes in the bottom with a regular hand drill. (Be
careful that you don't push too hard or you will crack the plastic) I
don't remember the drill bit size, but I think it was 3/8 or so, but
you can make the holes whatever size you want. You can then take a
razor blade and trim off the curly plastic bits that still hang onto
the pan when you drilled. Flip it over into the other pan, and you
are ready to sift.
Hope this helps, have fun!
