This is the little angel ferret that caused me to open my rescue almost
11 1/2yrs ago and this is why my heart is breaking that I had to close.
Renae came to me with a broken back and had been cage bound. She stayed
with me for 9 months untill she decided it was time to leave in March
od 1999. Riight before she passed she gave me the greatest gift, I got
to see her play for the first time even though she couldn't walk.

Renae was my insperation realizing all little angels need a second
chance at life to know love and a compassionate heart no matter where
they came from or what they'd been through.

This peom was written by my son (He was 16yrs at the time.) the day
after I lost Renae.

"A FERRET'S LIFE"

I was alone, I was afraid.
To whom do I owe for bringing me home,
And giving me back my life.
I was part of a family,
But as fast as the time past,
I found myself with a home that will last.
I have a chance to regain my life,
And crawl into part of your heart.
But most of all,
With my fears put aside,
For the first time ever,
Not only today,
But forever and ever.
I love you so much, and THANK YOU again.
Lift your chin and say goodbye,
I have lived my life,
Just as I wished.
I have to say one more thing,
PLEASE remember me, Renae.
The ferret that will always live,
In the sky and in the wind,
Within your minds as well as your hearts.
