Hello all,

This is a request for any information anyone may have regarding past
problems with ferrets and Delta airline within the last year. Delta
has recently changed their policies regarding ferrets as companion
pets for carry on within the cabin, adding instead that a "marmot" is
acceptable. Letters are being formed to address this issue with Delta.
A problem that has started occurring is Delta accepting reservations
round trip, letting a person fly out to their destination with their
ferret, then refusing passage for the ferret on the return trip,
effectively stranding the person with no way to bring the pet back with
them. We are wanting to find out if more persons have had this or other
problems. Please email myself or [log in to unmask] if you have any
instances you would like to bring forth. As many already know, Delta
was the only airline which accepted ferrets in-cabin, helping ferret
owners keep their pets safe during airline travel. Now that has
apparently gone away. This issue is part of the ongoing quest to have
ferrets recognized as true companion pets deserving acceptance from
the travel industry. Permission to cross post as well.
