I meant to include "here in the North West" in that statement as
thought that the Canadian Ferret thing could be somewhat localized.
Perhaps the Canadian Ferret Breeder referred to is in Western Canada.

I Volunteer at the Oregon Ferret Shelter here in Portland Oregon. In a
recent email from Chris the owner/operator she mentioned the number of
older Ferrets available in Pet stores. Seems they are not selling as
fast as previously maybe due to the economy. She wished the stores
would stop selling Babies for a time, and instead promote adoption, at
least to help get the Shelter occupancy count down. Presently they have
an average of 1 Ferret a Day coming in. Occupancy around 150 Fuzzies. I
had two given to me by the Shelter, and thinking about adding a fifth
to my Family as soon as I add another level to the Ferret Condo.
