This past weekend I volunteered at the black-footed ferret exhibit at
the Autumn Conservation Festival for the National Zoo's Conservation
and Research Center in Front Royal, Virgina. I had an absolutely
wonderful time! I got to meet Helen Tarbert, who was the other
volunteer at the booth, Lawrence Layman, the ferret keeper, and Dr.
JoGayle Howard, who made Peanut possible.
Hundreds of people stopped by to visit the exhibit and learn about our
favorite wild animal. I was asked to write an article about it for the
online version of Ferrets Magazine, so alas, you will all have to wait
until it is posted for more details. :-)
In the meantime, here is a video of Asia, one of the two black-footed
ferrets on display.

Oh, at last report, Peanut and Georgia were doing well in Colorado!
