Hello all, remember when I wrote to tell everyone about the two guys we
took in. Well as luck would have it Mick was diagnosed last week with
insulinoma, blood glucose of 42. So here is my question or observation.
I started noticing, even before he was diagnosed, that when his sugar
is low he digs. Not just a little but like a fiend. If he is in his
cage he digs in the litter box like he is trying to dig to China,
until he completely exhausts himself or I get his level back up. He
has started on pred, but we have to work up to the right dose for him.
Tonight when I heard a noise coming from the ferret playroom, I went
to check on him and he was digging in the rug like a crazed crack-head
ferret.

Has anyone else noticed this? I am concerned that if his sugar goes
down at night he will dig until he hurts himself, but I have no idea
why he does it or how to prevent it. Any info would be appreciated or
any other observations.
