PFFFFT...I vote that we call it "Marilyn's Mustelid"!

So what if it wasn't a "meerkat"? Perhaps it's a local name for
something else. We used to call long, green grasshoppers "Cicadas" --
yet those thrumming, buzzing ugly bugs with enormous alien-looking eyes
are also "cicadas". The point is, the story was awesome, the little
guy/gal was fed, and Marilyn has added yet another mouth to her hungry
crowd. :)

Maybe an opossum? *shudder* (I have a VERY strong aversion to those
nasty critters...but it involves a tale from many years ago, sleeping
in the woods, a bare butt, and a hissing possum...but I digress...)
I still say it doesn't matter, regardless. :)

There's your answer. How many of us, in your (freezing) snow boots,
would have done the same, I ask? Perhaps that is where you nay-sayers
should be placing your queries.

ANYONE "offended" by this story is being ridiculous, and obviously has
too much time on their hands if they have to pick nits over something
so silly. Ignore 'em!

Just my two cents'.
