Beginning June 17, Southwest Airlines will allow small cats and dogs
to fly in the cabin for $75 one-way.

I suggest a polite letter writing campaign to ask Southwest to include
ferrets as an allowable pet (except for flights that originate or land
in California).
Points to make:
* They are smaller than dogs and cats, and can easily travel in
carriers that fit under the seat.
* They are far less likely to cause allergic reactions in other
passengers than dogs or cats.
* They do not bark or meow and will not disturb other passengers.
