I got up this morning to find Peekaboo laying on the bottom floor of
the cage on her back and all four little feet sticking straight up!
This is not good.
I went nuts trying to figure out if she was still breathing, she was
only just barely, so shallow it almost could not be detected. Pester
was crouched in a corner upset at all this. Can imagine why.
During the night I heard some thrashing around in the cage. Usually
that is where Pester is 'attacking' that egg Robin sent me, the one
that has the knit cover over a plastic egg that houses a dehydrated
Aardvark testicle inside that rattles around when rolled and played
with. This is what most likely caused the whole problem for Peekaboo.
Peekaboo is a dook-a-holic and had a dook attack during the night
playing with that egg. Realizing this I got the
Quantifrolicdookmetaseine from the med cabinet and using the force
feeding tube thing I gave her a quick shot of the med. The
Quantifrolicdookmetaseine didn't immediately take effect and I
panicked. Giving too much of this can be as dangerous as the dook
attack but under the circumstances another shot of
Quantifrolicdookmetaseine was given. This time her eyes opened and
she let out a long slow out of breath low key quiet "DOOOOOOOOK".
I held her in my arms cradling her head so she could periscope out
some. She was out of breath from all the dooking of the dook attack
and was struggling to get oxygen back to her feeble body.
The double shot of Quantifrolicdookmetaseine was dangerous but where
there was no other option I took that calculated risk and it worked out
fine. Pester seems to now be relaxed enough to come say 'hi', so all is
well again. Phew!
So for now I will have to double and even triple the dook spray in here
to help keep those functioning left over dooks from further infecting
the tube dogs.
