Sandi,
I am so sorry to hear about your son! Please know you are in my
thoughts and prayers! I cannot imagine what you are going through right
now. I offer my prayers, hugs & support, & if there is anything that I
can do for you, please say so.
In reference to the anon observer;
IMO, the DMK rescue was a large scale effort to get ferrets out of a
bad situation. However they had to do it, to get the ferrets out & into
better homes, over all, it's a "rescue" Regardless of how a ferret is
rescued, the point is to get them into good homes, where they will be
well taken care of, & not have to worry about living in such poor
conditions. Anyone who adopted a DMK ferret SHOULD be proud, & from
what I have seen, they are, not because they are "DMK ferrets", but for
the fact that they were a part of helping finding these poor ferrets
good homes!
What's wrong with showing off an adopted ferret that you are proud to
say that you played a part in helping them find a home? NOTHING! Many
people also adopted shelter ferrets to make room for the DMK ferrets,
so they could be placed in homes. Regardless of where a new adopted
ferret comes from, we are all proud of our babies, & if any of us chose
to support local ferret clubs by showing any of our fuzzbutts, more
power! The "ferret commmunity" SUPPORTED rescuing the DMK ferrets. The
people (few) who were critical, most like look for things to complain
about, & are of no concern to me. To all of you who now have DMK
ferrets, thank you for providing homes for them! The shelter I work
with did not get any, but I would be proud to adopt one as well! I
hope to see some of you at the September show in Coeur d"Alene,ID!
Heather
