There is a stream behind my house I walk to now and then to check 'log
jams' backing up water that threatens a grist mill, the oldest grist
mill in the USA. Yesterday I saw a ferret loose down there!
I tried to approach it but it ran off. It looked to be in decent
health, not skinny and very active. Was so active that after searching
all day for it I could not find it or any sign of it.
I looked again this morning but no luck. I left food out but the local
animals ate it so that is not an option. I also have a live trap and
have set that out but caught two squirrels. Will keep looking and keep
an eye out but really don't think I will have any better luck finding
it never mind catching it. Oh well, at least I tried and am trying.
