Hi all,

I just wanted to point out one thing:

So many wanted to let Carole know that all she had to do was ask for
help, and she would have recieved.

Carole was said to have been afraid of backlash from the community had
she asked for help.

Then, someone in a similar situation (not neglected ferrets, but simply
that she is not allowed to have them and someone was going to turn her
in) asks for help anonymously.

Said person has been flamed.

Does anyone see an issue here? It was likely not someone from the FML -
but - just a note on this. To anyone asking for help, people will
always have a problem with you. That's just the way life is. At least
online, flames can't really hurt you; no one is at your door, yelling
at you in real life. You can delete the email or post from your inbox,
and even write back.

To those who flame, remember that if you succeed in intimidating people
and showing others what happens when people ask for help, you could
change someone else's mind into not asking later for fear of being
flamed.

Just to let everyone know, these ferrets were well cared for, by a
well-respected person - and I've had this problem as well. When you
have 10 or 11 ferrets, and you let them live in your house and run
everywhere, the house can smell like them. Oldies have accidents; they
just have a natural smell that some people can find "horrendously
strong" (which most of us as ferret owners can't smell or find 'good'
or 'neutral'). But you have probably ALL had someone come over who
says "they can't breathe", acting ridiculous when they smell a ferret.
Landlords don't want to deal with ferrets because of smells, even when
there is no neglect going on. This is the case right now.

Laryssa
