Hello FML --

Rico is still overeating but Dr D tells us the feces do not contain
undigested food. It appears to be the famous "seedy feces." However,
the feces are the same color as the food, rather than greenish.

So it's time to search the FML and FHL archives -- assuming that we
keep having both a phone line and electricity at the same time

Since I am afriad we'll lose one of both soon (we are in the middle of
a hail storm), I'll elaborate on our (interesting, believe it or not)
utility propblems later in the FM.

The second thing is that Dr Dawit can now measure blood sugar, and Lucy
has a reading of 118 mg/deciliter, whereas Rico and Jonas get a "LO"
reading. We think this is insuloma. So on to the archives in a few
minutes.

Lucy has been steadily losing weight over the past week, and her fur
has been going from bown to whitish. Perhaps that is one sign of hair
loss? Her hair is definitely thinner.

She used to have spectacular muscle tone, but that has also seemed to
thin a great deal.

Given the nightmare of our recent struggle w coccidia, to get a
tentative diagnosis of insuloma is to me, right now, like hearing that
a child has the common cold... At least there is a lot of info and lots
of standard treatment info available.

Well, we shall see what the archives hold. We also have the Fox book.

If you don't get another message from me in a cople of hours, it means
that I was cut off, and would greatly appreciate your feedback. Well,
of course I would appreciate it in any case, just don't want to
routinely take advantage.

Meanwile, here is some more info on Rico from an FHL post I made.

>He ate 1/3 cup at one time last night (the last time I observed
>him). The food they eat is very close to "chicken gravy" but not
>liquid (you can see the ingredients and amounts from <an earlier>
>post).
>
>His last three poops have been mushy w undigested food in them, and
>chicken-meat colored. The first two had a little liquid in them,
>unless it was just urine that ran into them.
>
>Abt 30 - 60 min after I wrote that last post, I took a look at him,
>and he was licking in his sleep at the same tempo as when he eats. In
>fact his bed was a little damp in one spot. No damage to the bed; we
>aren't sure if he was actually licking it or just licking in thin air.
>
>I wanted to move him to his cage, and when he awoke fully, he wanted
>to go to his plate and eat some more! Rico is still eating
>continuously. The only guess I have is could the stomach coater be
>preventing him from absorbing all the food he eats. He has gained a
>little weight, but not what Iwould have expected from this 2-3-day
>binging.
>
>There is no pet stomach coater here, so we have been using a human
>one -- Elkopas, made in Greece. "Suspension 240 ml" " Al Hydroxide
>22mg/5ml" "Mg Hydroxide 195 mg/5ml"
>
>He gets 1 ml/dose, and I have gone down fr 4xday to once.
>
>GOt any ideas about this overeating?
