When you see your sweet little fuzzbutt sleeping warmly and safely in
its hammy tonight, please think of all the little ones who are not so
lucky...Ferrets who are dumped at animal control, thrown out of cars,
or just turned loose outside. (Sometimes, just because the owner now
wants a NEW pet.) The owner who was supposed to love them just "doesn`t
have the time for them anymore"... Apathy kills.

Think of the oldsters, who are being put to sleep, because giving the
meds or special care they now need would be "just too much work" ---
when the ferrets could have a couple/few more good happy years, being
loved at a sanctuary. Apathy kills.

Now, think of how many times you have read on this list that another
good shelter/sanctuary is closing down, due to lack of support. It
happened again, last week. I have been on the phone with a good woman,
who asked for help, & was promised help---but it never came. No
volunteers came. No donations came. NOW no homeless little ferrets will
be coming EITHER. We will be taking in some of her older, sick ones,
in the event of her demise. Her shelter is dead. Add it to the list.
Everyone thinks that others will help, & that their small contribution
of time or money won`t matter. Apathy kills.

There is a wonderful woman out there on a fixed income, who faithfully
PayPals Zoo`s Ferret Sanctuary $5.00, every month. God bless her. It
doesn't take much--It takes many who CARE. It adds up. It helps. It
does make a difference. I wish a few people like her had been there for
my shelter friend. Maybe her shelter would still be there to help the
fuzzies...

Are you getting a tax refund, this year? Please consider throwing a
bone to your local shelter or sanctuary. You have the power to help.

Can you spare a couple/few hours each month to volunteer? There are a
few more shelters on the edge, right now--and your help might just make
the difference.
