First, let me say how much I admire Kris Mewton for what he does every
year with the Giving Tree. I am glad he wants to continue doing it. I
know how hard it is to try to do something good and have people (like
some anonymous posters) say terrible things about you even when they
don't know a thing about you. You do a great job Kris. It's a lot of
hard work, I think everyone should just back off and put their focus on
sending gifts to kids on the tree that don't have Santas. I have gone
out and added three more to my list and will go back tonight to add
another one or two. This is the time of year I wish I had a ton of
money!
Second, many, many thanks to Bill Gruber! BIG you have done a wonderful
job keeping the list in order. It was such a pleasure to meet you last
June at the Symposium! I went back into the FML archives to see how
long I have been reading the FML. My first post was on August 19, 1994.
I don't remember if I was reading it much before then, but I have read
it everyday since then! The FML has helped me out tremendously through
the years. I appreciate the well-wishers who contacted me when I
posted about losing a ferret, all the information Sukie posts (do you
ever sleep, Sukie?), Alexandria's humor, Wolfie's humor and links to
wonderful videos, all the ferrets I have "met" through the years on the
FML, Renee Downs' biscotti and friendship, and Bob Church's EVERYTHING.
I am truly grateful for everyone on the FML. You have helped me, the
club I started, and the shelter I now manage.
Here's to many more years of the FML!
