(Skippy, dapper in his tuxedo, stands in front of a respectably-sized
orchestra, dressed in the Mambo style, with those frilly sleeves.
Skippy takes up his baton and leads his orchestra in an introduction
with a distinctly Latin flavor. As the orchestra plays, a conga line
of rodents merrily snakes around the dance foor, while singing:
("Pico and Sepulveda... Pico and Sepulveda...")
("Pico and Sepulveda... Pico and Sepulveda...")
(Skippy, the lead singer steps up to a large, wonderfully art deco
microphone and begins to sing:
Dohenyyy... ("Pico and Sepulveda... Pico and Sepulveda...")
Cahuengaaa... ("Pico and Sepulveda... Pico and Sepulveda...")
La Breaaa... ("Pico and Sepulveda... Pico and Sepulveda...")
...Tar Pits! ("Pico and Sepulveda...")
("Tar Pits!")
La Jollaaa... ("Pico and Sepulveda... Pico and Sepulveda...")
Sequoiaaa... ("Pico and Sepulveda... Pico and Sepulveda...")
La Breaaa... ("Pico and Sepulveda... Pico and Sepulveda...")
...Tar Pits ("Pico and Sepulveda...")
("Tar Pits!")
You can keep Alvarado,
Santa Monica,
even Beverly Drive.
Vine may be fine,
but for mine,
I want to
Feel
A-live!
And settle down in my
La Breaaaa... ("Pico and Sepulveda... Pico and Sepulveda...")
...Tar Pits! ("Pico and Sepulveda... Pico and Sepulveda...")
Where nobody's dreams
Come true... ("Pico and Sepulveda... Pico and Sepulveda...")
("Pico and Sepulveda... Pico and Sepulveda...")
(Somebody pulls a cord, and balloons, confetti and streamers shower down
on Skippy's orchestra and the dancing rodents. A banner is lowered into
position: DANCING RODENTS - OR CONGA-RATS, IF YOU WILL - TO BIG AND THE
FML FOR TWENTY TERRIFIC YEARS !!)
