I agree the non compliance for USDA licensure adn that of the state not
renewing his permit until his property was found acceptable did prompt
McKay to look for placement alternatives.

Lori was not the only person to strike a deal to get ferrets off
McKay's property shipments went ot other breeders, prior to her
removing the two large groups. Though I do agree that many more of
the ferrets she received were neutered than would have been otherwise.
It is a relief that the numbers of kits that will be yielded to the
McKay's have been substantially cut.

My reference to "authorities" was in relationship to the reported
rescue itself. There were no humane officials associated with this
event, No citations for neglect, cruelty, etc., were issued. Rather
than a rescue, as understood in humane terms by organized humane
officials, it was a negotiated transfer of breed stock.

It was a noble effort, but one which was an agreement with a monetary
exchange.
