Actually, he didn't come out any better when he defended putting dogs
in the trunk of an official car(Can't recall more details offhand.) --
where they died -- to avoid them passing waste in the car cabin during
Guiliani's time as mayor. Kind of like his defending when the toddlers
and moms kiddie party in the park was broken up because there were more
than something like 8 people (including toddlers, but not the limit
when counting the adults alone) and they hadn't gotten a permit.

Then, of course, there was Romney getting in trouble year back when he
tied the family dog (in carrier) on top of their vehicle to have more
room inside during a family trip and then just hosed down the dog
when they reached rest stops because the terrified animal was having
diarrhea. That was actually up for a while ON HIS OWN CAMPAIGN SITE
as an example of creativity. They removed it within days when the
complaints came in, but it did make the papers

I don't know about you, but I tend to be scared sick about possible
risky (for others) actions of any candidates who have mistreated
animals because no matter how peaceful they say they are, actions
speak louder than words

For my experience, people who respect and care about animals tend to
usually respect and care about people in general, even if they don't
personally know them. Plain and simple. People who are going to have
responsibility for the lives of others need to have respect for those
others lives and rights.
