You know, not only did Flower die facing a cobra to protect her babies,
but right before that she did something very rare and under difficult
circumstances. She found an abandoned baby dying in the desert. Not
just any baby. A baby from the worst rival group of all. She not only
didn't kill it, or leave it in the desert, but she picked it up and
carried it all the way home and saved it. She did this despite the fact
that it smelled like a hated group, despite the fact that she already
had little babies to feed and despite much more. Two females were
already pregnant in the group (long story of how that happened). She
was watching them closely because her family group was massive due to
her leadership. Almost too massive. She had to be careful that it
didn't grow so much that any new babies won't put the group at risk and
so that there wouldn't be too many members to have to share rations
with later too. Yet, she still brought that baby home. Flower was a
huge, huge success because she had to make hard decisions at a second
notice. She's not a push over or a mush. So this was very touching to
see. I hear so much about her facing this huge cobra all alone despite
the fact that it was in a confined den to protect the groups babies,
but what she did before that was just as heroic.
