Shannon, we were so sad to read your post about Andre. I can SO relate
to your story about him, and your very touching poem.

All too often, people use a rescue/shelter/sanctuary as a dumping
ground for their sick, neglected ferrets. We wonder how anyone could
just walk away from an innocent little creature like Andre. It`s so
wrong.

Some people would rather spend the $$$ on themselves, than pay a vet to
help the trusting animal they should be commited to, and responsible
for.The ferret they used to love is now ill, or old---& that`s a
problem. A stiff vet bill, and some time spent giving meds might
cramp their STYLE!!!

Most of the fickle people don`t leave even a small donation to help
with the care of the animals, and when asked if they could contribute
a couple hours a month to volunteer--say they`re too busy...

Our only consolation (yours & ours) is that we ARE able to pull MANY of
them through---and the ones we could not help-- died with love. Ferrets
are not stupid. He knows you tried.

You can pull the covers up at night with a clear conscience, because
Someone else knows you tried too--and He is your silent partner, every
day.

Comforting hugs. You are making a difference in their lives...

Love,
Zoo
