I have not found a lot of evidence that this will, in fact, help
prevent adrenal disease, but I personally believe that it could. I
give our four ferrets some oral melatonin three times a week, mixed in
with their soup. Each time it is 2 mg total, divided among the four
ferrets (it is dissolved in the water of their soup before the other
ingredients are added). We also make sure that they have as much
darkness as possible when they are not out of their cage to play.
